Zradasht Religion

Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism is one of the world’s oldest monotheistic religions, founded by the prophet Zoroaster or Zarathustra in ancient Persia, around the 6th century BCE. This religion centers around the worship of Ahura Mazda, the supreme god, who represents all that is good, just, and true.

Key Beliefs and Practices

Ahura Mazda

The supreme deity, Ahura Mazda is the creator of the universe and the source of all light, wisdom, and goodness. Zoroastrians believe that Ahura Mazda is in a constant battle against Angra Mainyu, the destructive spirit of chaos and evil.

Dualism

Zoroastrianism is characterized by a dualistic worldview, which highlights the eternal struggle between the forces of good (Ahura Mazda) and evil (Angra Mainyu). Humans play a crucial role in this cosmic battle by choosing to promote good thoughts, good words, and good deeds (Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta).

Fire Worship

Fire is a central symbol in Zoroastrian worship, representing purity, truth, and the presence of Ahura Mazda. Zoroastrian temples often contain a sacred fire that burns continuously, attended by priests.

Avesta

The sacred texts of Zoroastrianism, known as the Avesta, consist of hymns, prayers, and religious teachings attributed to Zoroaster. The Gathas, which are a part of the Avesta, contain Zoroaster’s direct teachings and are considered the most authoritative section.

Ethical Living

Zoroastrianism emphasizes living a life of righteousness, which involves practicing honesty, charity, and respect for all living beings. The concept of Asha (truth and order) is fundamental, guiding adherents to live in harmony with the natural and spiritual world.

Afterlife

Zoroastrians believe in an afterlife where individuals are judged based on their actions in life. The righteous are rewarded with eternal happiness in heaven, while the wicked face suffering in hell. Ultimately, Zoroastrian eschatology envisions a final renovation of the world (Frashokereti) where good triumphs over evil, and all souls are purified and united with Ahura Mazda.

Festivals and Rituals

Zoroastrians celebrate several important festivals, including Nowruz (the Persian New Year), Gahambars (seasonal festivals), and Sadeh (a mid-winter festival). Ritual purity is also a significant aspect, and Zoroastrians practice various cleansing ceremonies.
